Welcome to our home! Thank you for considering making our home your new home. We truly enjoy living here for the past 12 years. It’s now time for us to move but we take very fond memories with us. I know you will find as much if not more joy than we experienced here.

We nicknamed our place “Mountain Home” as the view around the home site provides 360 degree winter mountain views. The home has a year round mountain view from the large glass passive solar double doors that open to the deck/with hot tub and seating/dining area.

The property features 21+/-wooded and cleared acres. Deer and wild turkey often stroll through the property. The home is located on scenic 810 in one of the most beautiful parts of western Albemarle County. We have a shared driveway. Our neighbors could not be better and we work together on road maintenance. Our home with surrounding yard and wooded trails are great for children and pets, plenty of privacy and open space.

The Patricia Byron Park is just 1 1⁄2 miles from the house, as well as several local wineries are located all along scenic 810. Skyline Drive along the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains is 30 minutes. Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are 30 minutes. Crozet is 25 minutes. The real surprise we found was the Mission Home Bakery is 3 miles for fresh baked goods and cheeses..

The home was built when our children were grown and designed by the owner contractor as a retreat and place to enjoy the natural world with space for family and friends to visit. The vaulted ceilings upstairs with open floor plan, living room/dining/kitchen, hardwood floors and master bedroom and bath, foyer and powder room, fireplace, woodstove with passive solar sliding glass doors that open to the mountain view and large deck with eating area and hot tub are great for entertaining.

The terrace level designed with ceramic tile flooring, additional fireplace, family room, 2 bedrooms and full bath, laundry/mechanical room and storage area. There is a full patio with stamped designed concrete and beautiful mountain views. There is a detached large shed with electricity. A lovely gazebo overlooks a wooded stream a short distance from the home. There is also a beautiful stocked spring fed pond and stream a short walk through the wooded trails.

The home and large tractor shed were built and designed by the owner/contractor in 2004. There are 2 stone fireplaces. The one downstairs was built with stone from the property. The Jotul wood stove upstairs is very efficient as well as the passive solar effect from the double glass sliding doors. All floors upstairs are hardwood (5” wide, 3⁄4” oak). Baths (2 full and 1 half), foyer and entire downstairs are ceramic tile.

We have enjoyed our early retirement years in our “Mountain Home”. The complete privacy and no other house in site, the amazing views, pond, stream, and hiking with family & friends have been wonderful. We hope you will make many lasting memories here amount the beautiful private natural setting.
